A Lesson in Hydropower
Now that you’re reading this, we’ll let you in on a little secret. Mobius is back in business with a few tricks up its sleeve: Hydropower and Bodies. Before you make up some excuse to get away from whatever you’re doing and head over to Mobius, we have some people we want to thank.
First and foremost, Jessie Wuerst of Avista, for being our fearless leader; Levi Westra, Bryce Eschenbacher and Tim Cunninghamm for making it possible for exhibit-goers to generate their own electricity; Nick Linden, Steve Linden and their team for using their brawn and genius to build the exhibit and ensuring a whole lot of cool factor; and Hamilton Studio for giving Daniel Diversion Dam, Penelope Penstock, Taylor Turbine, Samantha Substation, and Peyton Powerhouse voices of their own.
Now for some KHudos: To the mastermind, Darin Klündt, who took a scientific process that would normally go over our heads and turned it into a charismatic story; the master communicator, Ashley Martin, who protected us against any game-of-telephone actualities; the scribe, Rick Hosmer, who incorporated these ideas without breaking laws of physics; the queen of illustration, Tiffany Patterson, who gave faces and personalities to all of the dams and made us fall in love with them; and to our unsung heroes who we are now “singing” (as much as you can with text alone) Micah Sheets and Brett Anderson, who are far smarter than we will ever know.
If you’re still reading this, you’re really not picking up on the urgency. Get yourself to Mobius!
(Oh, and we hear that the Bodies exhibit is pretty good. So there’s that.)
